While the details of government education policy are still far from formalised, early announcements on empowering schools to make their own spending decisions have been welcomed by manufacturers of education technology and their channel partners.
A new video report, released by AV News, concludes that integrators and resellers are well placed to serve as trusted advisors to their local education communities, replacing the government provision for advice formerly offered by BECTA and local authorities.
But the video report also reveals that assuming the role of trusted advisor will require changes in selling approach and the range of services on offer to educational customers.
Further opportunities for integrators will emerge for AV integrators and resellers with the close integration of IT in schools, which announcements from the government suggests will still be a priority.
The new education funding system could see integrators and resellers acting in the capacity of trusted advisors across AV and IT.
