HP has adopted Scala software for its all-in-one HP SignagePlayer MP8000r. HP says that “The new solution has been launched to meet customer demand for affordable digital signage solutions that are quick and simple to install, manage and scale”. By combining an HP LD4200 42-inch display with the player and Scala QuickStart software (see below) the HP SignagePlayer MP8000r requires is said to require almost no configuration.
The HP SignagePlayer MP8000r solution is said to be specifically designed for businesses in the retail, hospitality, healthcare and education sectors, who want to deploy full-featured digital signage at a single location or across a small network. With built-in, professionally designed templates, users can inform customers about in-store promotions, menu boards, lobby signage and infotainment by quickly creating or updating attractive and engaging visuals.
The HP SignagePlayer MP8000r will be available this month. Pricing will vary depending on the market and configuration of the solution. Resellers can see it on the Vision Van which will be displaying a range of products available from Maverick with integration tools from Vision. The Vision Van will be touring the country between now and the end of February 2011.
* Scala has announced a new release of Scala QuickStart supporting the introduction of new SignagePlayers from HP. The new QuickStart service offers a new “zero-configuration” scheme, allowing even entry-level users a way to set up and manage a Scala digital signage network.
