It combines 500Mbps Powerline (or HomePlug) technology with H.264 compression. The critical factor in getting it to work reliably is to modify the Quality of Service (QoS) setup in the Qualcomm chipset, so Vision developed proprietary QoS to ensure the signal has priority and won’t drop out. Vision claims latency is virtually zero.
The transmitter has a 2-input HDMI switcher integrated with an HDMI output which can feed a local display. It comes with a remote so the switcher can be switched from the transmitter or receiver.
For home users it has IR pass-through, so you can use the Sky or Blu-ray remote from the receiver location. Cabled IR receivers and emitters are included so everything can be hidden out of sight.
In other news Vision has moved to a new look logo. Vision’s General Manager Stuart Lockhart explained: “The new logo reflects our evolution into a tier 1 brand. We are no longer just an education brand – our products are used in corporate, home, business, and digital signage installations all over the world.”
